I’ve picked up with Garth Wood again to follow the prep for his upcoming fight against Sam Soliman. He’s getting back to the grass roots of boxing hitting a PCYC on the central coast to train under a new coach and work with young talent from the area. Seeing gyms like this one in the suburbs of the central coast gives you faith that the sport of boxing and it’s true gritty nature are being well looked after by passionate young kids and the older generation who just love to be involved in it. It’s a great atmosphere to be around and I hope the decision by Garth and his team to get back to basics works in their favour. I believe it will.

Last month I shot Alex Dimitriades for Sydney Magazine down in Rose Bay. We did a couple of shots at the marina in the incredible Frauscher 717 GT and then he took it for a spin around the harbour. While shooting we got hit by a rogue wave and ended up totally soaked, camera and all! Not a good for the gear but we got what we needed and Alex had some fun. Here are some behind the scenes pics and the final shots that ran in The Sydney Mag yesterday.

I actually shot this pic of Aussie golfer Adam Scott about three years ago now. Good Weekend dug it out of the archives and gave it a new lease of life. Originally meant to be a cover for Sport and Style that never happened I was happy that it got to run nice and big and up front where it was meant to be.
